In 1996 Intergen (Glazier Systems at the time) released New Zealand's first production Internet retail site using Microsoft Merchant technology (first iteration of Microsoft Commerce Server). We developed and ran the site to give us market-leading experience in all aspects of developing and running an Internet store.
The site was initially branded 'Bravo', then adapted and extended to stock products from the high profile 'Underwear Club" brand. Since this early introduction into the Internet commerce space Intergen has been involved with a number of innovative electronic commerce initiatives.
Another New Zealand first was the ability to officially accept credit card transactions across the Internet. We worked closely with a number of parties to develop a solution for real-time authorisation for 'Card Holder Not Present' credit card transactions. This technology, ePAS, is key to enabling revenue capture for Internet based products and services and continues to be used by a number of organisations.
Intergen are now a Paymark certified solution provider.
