Intergen runs a national Project Management Office (PMO) which ensures that we apply a consistent professional approach to the management of our projects. The PMO is ultimately responsible to our clients for the successful delivery of their projects and achieves this by providing governance and support to our project managers through the implementation of our Project Management framework.
Our PM framework is based on PRINCE2 and PMBOK and stipulates a varied level of process depending on the type, size and complexity of the project. We only prescribe process where it delivers value. We always look to maintain a balance where we can to enable creativity and innovation while ensuring that just enough governance is applied so that projects are successful, with great communication and a positive outcome for everyone involved.
The PMO provides governance across all Intergen projects. Project reviews are conducted regularly to monitor the progress and status of projects. The PMO supports the project managers and helps to identify, manage, mitigate and resolve any project issues or risks which may arise.
It is the responsibility of our PMO to:
- Provide governance and support to all Intergen projects to ensure a successful delivery for our clients
- Monitor projects throughout the life cycle to ensure issues are identified early and resolved quickly and that the project stays on track
- Own and maintain the Project Management Framework including guidelines and templates and ensure that the methodology is updated to reflect best practice and project learnings
- Provide governance and support, training and mentoring to the Intergen Project Managers
- Provide centralised resourcing to ensure that projects are effectively and efficiently resourced to support the success of the project – the resource function supports prioritisation of work and ensures consistency of resources across technologies and clients
